Expressive language skills include being able to label objects in the environment, describe actions and events, put words together, use grammar correctly, retell a story, answer questions appropriately and write a short story, etc.

Pragmatics refers to the way in which children use language within social situations. It has three components: Ability to use language for different purposes, ability to adapt language to meet the needs of the listener or situation and following the often “unspoken ” rules of conversation and storytelling

Fluency is a speech language pathology term that means the smoothness or flow with which sounds, syllables, words and phrases are joined together when speaking quickly. “Fluency disorders” is used as a collective term for cluttering and stuttering.
